REGISTRATION: Registration for the 2007 Legislative Agriculture Chairs Summit is limited to legislative invitees and sponsors.  For registration information, please contact Dr. Carolyn Orr at (859)734-5438 or corr@agandruralleaders.org . The hotel will not guarantee room availability for registrations after December 30, 2006.

HOTEL REGISTRATION: All hotel reservations must be made by Summit personnel in the SARL block. Rooms rate is $179.00 per night. For information contact Dr. Carolyn Orr at (859)734-5438 or corr@agandruralleaders.org .

PHOTO: Please remember to send a photo to corr@agandruralleaders.org as soon as possible.

HITS AND MISSES: We will have a session Sunday morning to share state agriculture and rural legislation from across the U.S. and Canada. This promises to be a truly educational session for all attendees. Please submit one or two legislative acts (final passage not required) you think are either the best or the worst examples of agriculture or rural legislation in your state. Forward by email to corr@agandruralleaders.org or fax legislation (859-734-5840) as soon as possible.

DRESS:  This is your Summit.  Please dress so you feel comfortable.  Friday session will be in Congress, so you may want to dress differently for that than for Saturday and Sunday Sessions.

TRAVEL PLANS: The closing session Sunday may be the most important one you attend all year. We are going to hear the concerns several activist groups have with food production.  We will be serving a box lunch so you can take it with you, but we would suggest your flight leaves after 2:30 pm.

AIRPLANE RULES: If carrying on your luggage you are currently permitted to take liquids and lotions in 3 oz or smaller containers in one quart sized plastic bag that must be set out of the carry-on bag during security.

AIRPORT TO HOTEL TRAVEL: The quickest, most efficient way is to take the Metro that leaves at the Reagan National Airport Entrance. Get a fare card for $1.35 in the machine, take the Yellow Line toward Mt Vernon.  It is 13 minutes to the Gallery Place-Chinatown station, Depart the Yellow line and board the Red Line (toward Glenmont) there and it is four minutes to the Union Station Exit.  The Hyatt Capitol Hill is .3 miles SW from that station.  A Taxi ride takes about 30 minutes for about $16 dollars.

ONSITE REGISTRATION: There will be a registration desk set up in the hotel from 3:00 -6:00 pm Thursday, January 25, 2007.  It will reopen at 7:30 Friday (1/26) morning. You must be preregistered to attend.

FRIDAY A.M: We will be leaving the hotel by 9:00 am by bus for the Canon office building.  Please feel free to go early and meet with your congressional delegation.  If you arrive after the 9:00 am bus, there will be a registration desk at the hotel to provide you information and you can walk or take a taxi.

FRIDAY NIGHT DINE AROUND TOWN: Back by popular demand, Friday night will be left open to have dinner with other attendees or sponsors.  There will be a table for dinner at the hotel for those attendees who do not wish to go out.

A printable version of the confirmation letter sent to attendees is available here.
