The State Agriculture & Rural Leaders (SARL) Summit has been providing an unparalleled non-partisan educational opportunity for elected state and provincial officials with an interest in agriculture and rural communities in both the U.S. and Canada to work together, network, collaborate and create problem-solving partnerships since 2001.
Planning has begun for the 2025 Summit to be held January 3-5 in Des Moines, Iowa. As an invitation-only event, the only participants are sponsors and elected agricultural leaders. SARL provides various sponsorship levels to meet every organization’s needs. Your support of this annual gathering is truly appreciated. The funds are primarily used for legislative travel and Summit expenses.

State Agriculture and Rural Leaders Legislative Agriculture Chairs Summit brings together leaders in agriculture to investigate and develop creative and collaborative ways to address timely issues related to agriculture and rural policy. This special gathering of the leadership of the state House and Senate Agriculture Committees, Rural Caucuses, and committees that over see Rural Revitalization takes place May 29-31 in Boise, Idaho.
Industry and individual support for this program is the energy that makes it work. This is a unique opportunity to address key issues with state agriculture and rural leadership as well as experts from across the country and we invite you to participate through sponsorship. Attendance is limited; the 2019 meeting had 170 state and provincial legislators from 45 states and 6 Canadian provinces.
All on-site expenses (registration, rooms, meals) are provided by the Summit to state and provincial legislators, and travel scholarships are available for those without state or campaign travel funds. Continually decreasing state and provincial support for travel requires us to provide these scholarships. We do not want lack of state funds to inhibit a legislator’s participation. In order to continue to support attendance, we must have your support. Contributions from the private sector are absolutely crucial to accomplishing this program.
As a private industry member you are a full member of SARL and will;
- vote on resolutions and board members.
- be recognized on all Summit materials, SARL’s website and signage.
- be provided the opportunity to include information in the attendee packet.
- receive free registration for company officials.
- help plan the agenda (for 2020 and 2021 - depending on the timing of your commitment).
- be able to use your sponsorship as a tax deduction since SARL is a 501 c(3).
There is a level of sponsorship to fit every organization. From multinational to state-level nonprofits. In addition to the benefits below, sponsors are invited to the monthly SARL calls on hot-button issues, and sponsors at the Heritage level and above are invited to provide input – topics, speakers, etc. - to the Summit program.
- Visionary - $10,000 Complimentary registration for three attendees plus all Legacy benefits; special recognition on Summit signage and an opportunity to be recognized at a reception or meal to introduce your team.
- Legacy - $7,500 Complimentary registration for two attendees plus all Heritage benefits; invited to include materials in Summit swag bag.
- Heritage - $4,000 (Reserved for smaller non-profits) Complementary registration for one attendee plus recognition on the Summit website, at the meeting and in the program booklet.
- Special Newcomers Heritage - $3,000 (reserved for first time sponsors) Complementary registration for one attendee; recognition on the Summit website, at the meeting and in the program booklet.
- Benefactor - $2,000 Recognition on the Summit website only; covers expenses of one specific legislator. A single representative can attend but must pay an additional $500 registration fee to cover the meals and expenses of the Summit.
